MacWorld Expo/SF 2006
MacWorld Expoの会場はブルース・ブラザーズで盛り上がった。
iPodでSaturday Night Liveが見れるようになるらしい。うーん、欲しくなったぞ。
さて従来のPowerBookの4倍のパフォーマンスを実現できるという MacBook Proが発表されました。先行予約開始で発売は２月から。
詳細な仕様はここ。
現行PowerBookよりもわずかに薄い筐体には、iSightカメラが内蔵され、Front Rowリモコンも搭載。ところで、このMacBookという名前は慣れが必要ですね。言いにくいです。ニッカポッカみたい。
今年度中にすべてのモデルをIntelチップへ移行する計画のようですが、Intel製プロセッサを搭載したマシンを投入した後も、従来プロセッサ搭載マシンを販売し、従来製品も新製品も同じ価格で販売。最後のPowerPCマシンということで需要もあり、在庫を消化していくということなんだろうね。
iLife'06は各アプリケーション毎にPodCastingへの細かな対応が成されていました。
iPhotoのPhotoCasting、iMovieのiPodエクスポートやビデオPodCast、GarageBandのPodCast作成スタジオなどなど。
おばあちゃんのMacのスクリーンセーバーを孫の写真に設定するというデモがいいよね。
アルバムを更新したらPhotocastされて、おばあちゃんのMacのスクリーンセーバーが自動的に更新されて孫の新しい写真が見られる。
iLifeって感じだ。
Appleのウェブサイトで数日前に誤って公開されて話題を呼んだ「iWeb」は、おおかたの予想通りウェブサイト作成用のアプリケーションだった。iLifeファミリーを使って、総合的にサイトを構築できるというのはいいね。
PodCastingというキーファクターで従来のiLife製品をうまくまとめ上げ、PersonalCastingのツールに仕上げたわけだ。

Appleの製品とサービスは、どちらかが先行することもなく、いつも非常にうまくバランスしていると思う。
こだわるトコロとこだわらないトコロの緩急も上手に付けているし、時代のちょっとだけ先を取るセンスもいい。
Appleは今年、創業30周年を迎える。
ボクがAppleIIに憧れてたのも、30年近く前のことなんだと思うと感慨深いね。
