Einstein2005動作スピード
Paulから送られてきた Einstein2005（OS-X用、バグあり）を試してみました。
やはり気になるのは動作スピード。
NewtTestを使ってスピードを測るわけですが、初期のEinsteinにインストールされていたNewtTestではTestTypeにSpeed項目が無いため測れません。Einstein-DP3と一緒にリリースされたNewtTest1.1にはSpeed項目があるので、これ以降のリリースについて測定しました。
試した環境はiMac G4-800MHz/RAM-512MBです。この時点で遅いのは目に見えてますがね（笑）
NewtTestのLoopスピードチェックの結果は以下の通り。単位はiterations/second。
7倍速というのはWWNC2004公開当時からの実績のようですが、ボクのテスト環境ではこんなもんですね。
DP3 ：1320
UP2 ：1800
2005：2830
さて Einstein2005という名前ですが、バグが取れてリリースされる際には "Einstein Emulator"ではなく "Einstein Platform Preview 1" という名前になるようです。
