Newtonサポーターへ - Einstein の設定
さて、ここまで動き出すと自分でもEinsteinやってみたいでしょ。
まずはROMの吸い上げになりますが、Einsteinと同梱されているROM Dumperを使うのが一番手っ取り早いと思います。NewtonがTCP/IP接続できるのが前提条件。それでは手順を紹介します。
たとえばNewton側のIPアドレスが 192.168.0.15だとします。
１．ROM DumperパッケージをNewtonにインストール。
２．ROM Dumperの Startボタンを押してNewton側を待ちの状態にします。
３．MacOS-X側ではターミナルを立ち上げ、以下のコマンドを打ち込んでROMをファイルへ吸い上げます。
nc 192.168.0.15 10080 > 717006
４．この 717006ファイルをEinstein配下のdataフォルダにコピー。
５．Einsteinフォルダに移動して einsteinアイコンをダブルクリックしてX11を起動します。
６．X11コンソールで以下のコマンドを打ち込み
./einstein data
７．これでポートレートモードのNewtonOSが立ち上がります。
みんなもNewtonエミュレータを試してみて、動作環境のレポートをお願いします。
どれくらいのクロック数やメモリ容量で快適に動くのか、みんなの協力がないと調べられないことあると思いますので。
Paul に直接フィードバックするのも良いですが、同じ質問やレポートが増えると開発中の彼も大変でしょうから、このサイトを見てEinsteinを試してみた方は ClubNewtonまでレポートをお願いします。

DR1起動できました！
ROMの吸い出しはすぐできましたが、717006ファイルをdataにどう移すのか？でしたが、cp 717006 "ディレクトリパス”で完了でした。
X11コマンド入力でまた苦労してしまいました。ユーザーホームからEinstein-DR1ディレクトリにcdで移動してからでないと ./einstein dataするんすね。
EinsteinDR1起動してからは順調でした。音トギレはしますが操作はいたってスムース。MP2100より気持ち遅いかなくらい。
Macは G5 1.8シングル メモリは1GB搭載です。
ただ問題がありまして、DR1をX11ごと終了して再度起動すると、初期状態に戻っちゃいます。終了の仕方がまずいんでしょうか？ それと640×480で開くにはどうすれば良いのでしょうか？
今のとこ以上です。

うちも毎回初期状態です。まだ保存機能が実装されないのだと思ってます(^^;
画面サイズは
./einstein --width=480 --height=640 --machine=717006 data
で指定できます。シェルスクリプトにして X11 も自動的にオープンできるようにしておくといいですよ。

dataフォルダにFLASHってファイルできてないですか？
X11コンソールでCtrl+Dまたはquitで終わってみてください。
そのファイルができれば、あとは
./einstein data
だけで現状復帰できますよ。

なんか音が違うね。
解説のエントリーを連載するよ。これからオープンしていくんだけど、あんなに長いハウツーもの書いたのは数年ぶり。試行錯誤があったりと昔を思い出した。今じゃ維持できないな、Newton@-AtMark- 。

Flashファイルがうまくできてこない場合には、コンソールからpowerと打ち込んで、Newtonの電源を一旦切ると保存できるかもしれないですよ。で、もう一度powerでパワーオンすると。

Einstein プロジェクトの紹介をしていただきありがとうございます。
超初心者ですが、なんとか起動することができました。
DR−１
iBook G4/800/640MBで動いているのですが、サウンドは切れ切れにしか聞こえず、スクラブもスローモーション
負荷としてはかなり重くて、iBookくんもかなり苦労しているようです。
インストール方法で、dataフォルダをどこに置いておくかがわからなくて困りました。
ターミナルのコマンドで移動すればいいのですが、調べるとっかかりもわからないので、

power コマンドを入力したらうまく前のところから復帰できるようになりました。
うーん、quit コマンドで奇麗に終了できないのが原因かな。
